Starting My Blog - Finally!

Writer's picture: Megan EliseMegan Elise

Hello everyone! Thank you for taking a bit of your time to drop in and see what I’m up to! I am super excited to finally get my blog up and running (that may be an understatement)! ! ! Some of you know that I have been aspiring to create this blog for quite some time and have had circumstance after circumstance (or maybe excuse after excuse) keep popping up that would delay me from JUST DOING IT. For those of you that don’t know me - I was raised in the foot-hills of the Appalachian Mountains, come from a God-fearing family of 9 (always plus or minus a few as my parents feel lead to foster/adopt), am 22 years old (but always being called an "old soul"), I love all animals, creative activities, and the outdoors in general, and am currently enjoying flourishing in this new stage of life as a newlywed in the great country of Florida with my husband on our ever-growing little homestead. I am very passionate about seeking truth and encouraging other young people to do so in a time where "comfort" and "entertainment" RULE people and become their "gods" - even so many Christian's that claim they worship the one true Lord are entangled in this web of modernity and worshiping the means of "comfort" and "entertainment" over TRUTH and righteous purposeful life... I may be one simple blonde girl - but I will not stay silent.

My husband and I are abundantly blessed for our age and do have an overwhelming amount of responsibilities and much to give justice to and live up to. Our home was built in the 1940's and is an adventure and project of its own - not to mention our many animals and taking care of the property and learning to work together efficiently as a young couple and balance our time, money, jobs, livin’, lovin’, laughin’ and the whole beautiful package! I get rushes of joy and fright at the same time just trying to embrace it all - SERIOUSLY. I am beyond thankful though - and need to complain less and thank God more in my daily life for sure...

So why would I want to add the responsibilities of a blog to a busy stage of life? First off, I have been making leaps and bounds recently in the department of what is and what isn’t worth stressing about and how precious and short life really is... (I'm sure I'll always say this in new meaning and perspective! lol) Also, I have felt led to start a blog strongly and clearly enough for such a long time now, there isn’t any reason I can imagine the good Lord would not want me to just start where I’m at and trust in Him for the details, development, and organizing of this blog. So… without further ado and even though I feel completely unworthy of any attention paid or support offered, here we go!

The most important thing you need to know about me is simple... My Savior is Jesus Christ and to whom I owe everything - all good I can accomplish or glory that can be obtained should be to Him and I pray I can uphold that diligently. Also, I can never give enough credit to my tenaciously driven husband - he truly inspires me and I unashamedly adore him most! (right next in line to Jesus Christ of course) ;) Also, I have gone back and forth as to whether to add this last part because I know it will "scare" some super modern women out their, but I just feel it has to be included in my "most important things" or this post just wouldn't be complete... So yah have to know - I have always felt led to have many children ever since I can remember thinking of growing up and having a family - 10 is my goal! :) One of my favorite stories to tell from when I first met my husband is of how I knew he was a "good catch" because I told him I wanted 10 children one day the first 2 weeks of us dating and he didn't RUN! lol He's an only child, so he doesn't quite know what he's getting himself into, but it's all good! Where God guides he provides!

So there is a bit about me. I am definitely not claiming to be perfect in my ways, I just feel chastised to share my journey. I YEARN for other young men and women to develop a thirst for truth seeking and hunger for knowledge and more real conversation with sustenance and less societal norms and political correctness. It’s a life worth living I promise you - and I'm sure I have personally only scraped the tip of the iceberg! Furthermore, and most dearly, If you are family reading this – know I pray for each of you and have longed for this day when you would be able to rejoice with me in this new and more expounded expression of my journey! Forgive me for the delay, but not until now have I been strong enough and humble enough at the same time to succeed... My next post concerning a very personal recent situation regarding my health, personal growth, and wellbeing, will explain so much, I promise! In short, if any of yall care to keep up with the ventures of this recently extremely humbled, yet still hopelessly in love and stubbornly passionate "truth warrior" of a Georgia-grown/ Florida-flourished, young-wife-life livin’, Southern-Belle-wanna-be of sorts -- then you may be at the right place!!! ;) I can’t wait to see where this blog goes and am further humbled and honored by any of yall sweet souls that want to tag along...

God bless and take care loved ones!
